DR Industrial Regenerative Blowers
ROTRON® DR Industrial Regenerative Blowers provide reliable, continuous, oil-free airflow for pressure and vacuum applications across industrial, commercial, and aquatic environments. Manufactured by Bison®, an AMETEK business, and formerly marketed as AMETEK ROTRON, the DR Series is designed for long service life, low maintenance, and dependable performance under normal operating conditions.
Built for Continuous, Reliable Operation
DR blowers use regenerative (side-channel) technology with a non-contacting impeller that moves air without introducing oil into the airstream. The series features rugged cast-aluminum construction, removable cast-iron flanges, and permanently sealed motor bearings rated by the manufacturer for approximately 20,000–25,000 hours. Available configurations include different motor sizes, voltages, and electrical requirements.
Applications Across Multiple Industries
ROTRON DR blowers support a broad range of applications:
-
Aquaculture: Aeration for fish tanks, raceways, hatcheries, ponds, recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), and biofilters.
-
Hydroponics & Aquaponics: Nutrient reservoir aeration, deep-water culture, fish tanks, grow beds, and biological filtration.
-
Commercial Aquatic Systems: Aquariums, spas, water features, airlift pumps, and filter backwashing.
-
Industrial Applications: Pneumatic conveying, drying, vacuum handling, and continuous process air.
Choosing the Right DR Blower
DR models are generally suited for ordinary air service in non-hazardous environments without unusual corrosion exposure. For saltwater, high-humidity, or chemically aggressive conditions, consider whether a corrosion-resistant ROTRON CP blower is more appropriate.
Proper blower selection requires evaluating airflow (SCFM), operating pressure or vacuum, horsepower, voltage, phase, and system conditions. Delivered airflow changes with operating pressure, making the manufacturer's performance curve essential for accurate sizing.
