Warranty

ROTRON products are designed and manufactured by Bison, a business of AMETEK (the “Manufacturer”). The warranty on these products is provided by the Manufacturer, not by RotronStore.com or Sivat Water Solutions, Inc. The Manufacturer’s current warranty terms are reproduced below for reference, followed by RotronStore’s own role and terms. These supersede any earlier warranty statement published in the Manufacturer’s Application Engineering Basics literature.

Manufacturer’s warranty

Reproduced from the Manufacturer’s published terms. References to notice and returns below are the Manufacturer’s; in practice you deal with RotronStore, as set out under “How to make a claim”.

WARRANTIES

A. Manufacturer warrants that Products manufactured by Manufacturer, when delivered, shall be free from defects in material/workmanship.  Manufacturer warrants that Services shall be performed in accordance with generally accepted industry practice. Manufacturer’s obligations under this warranty shall be limited exclusively to repairing or replacing, at Manufacturer’s option, any part of Products which, if properly installed, used and maintained, proved to have been defective in material or workmanship within 1 year from the date of shipment, or re-performing the Services.  Manufacturer warrants for a period of 1 year from the date of shipment that software or firmware, when used with Products, shall perform in accordance with Manufacturer’s published specifications. Manufacturer makes no warranty, express or implied, that the operations of the software or firmware shall be uninterrupted or error-free, or that functions contained therein shall meet or satisfy the Buyer’s intended use/requirements. Buyer shall notify Manufacturer of any defect in the quality or condition of Products (including software/firmware) or Services within 7 days of the date of delivery or performance, unless the defect was not apparent on reasonable inspection, in which case, within 7 days after discovery of the defect. If Buyer does not provide such timely notification, it shall not be entitled to reject Products (including software/firmware) or Services, and Manufacturer shall have no liability for such defect.

1. Manufacturer’s warranty obligations shall not apply to Products which (1) have been altered or repaired by someone other than Manufacturer, or (2) have been subjected to misuse, neglect, or improper use or application, or (3) are normally consumed in operation, or (4) have a normal life inherently shorter than the warranty period stated therein.

2. No Products may be returned unless authorized in advance by Manufacturer, and then only upon such conditions to which Manufacturer may agree. Buyer must obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number from Manufacturer prior to any return shipment, and such RMA number must appear on the shipping label and packing slip. Buyer shall be responsible for returned Products until such time as Manufacturer receives the same at its facility, and for all charges for packing, inspection, shipping, transportation or insurance associated with returned Products.

3. This warranty section sets forth the exclusive remedies and obligations for claims based upon defects in or nonconformity of Products/Services, whether the claim is in contract, warranty, tort (including negligence of any degree or strict liability) or otherwise. THE FOREGOING WARRANTIES ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER ORAL, WRITTEN, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY. NO IMPLIED OR STATUTORY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE SHALL APPLY.

RotronStore’s role

RotronStore.com, operated by Sivat Water Solutions, Inc., is an authorized ROTRON distributor and the seller of record. RotronStore does not manufacture ROTRON products and does not provide, extend, enlarge or modify the Manufacturer’s warranty. We will assist with a claim by coordinating with the Manufacturer, but the warranty obligation and any remedy under it are the Manufacturer’s.

Seller’s disclaimer

EXCEPT FOR PASSING THROUGH THE MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY DESCRIBED ABOVE, ROTRONSTORE.COM AND SIVAT WATER SOLUTIONS, INC. MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Product selection remains the responsibility of the purchaser. Application guidance we provide is offered in good faith as general assistance and is not a warranty that a product is suitable for your system or application.

How to make a claim, give notice and return a product

You deal with RotronStore, not with the Manufacturer. Contact us and we will coordinate with the Manufacturer on your behalf.

Notice of a defect. Notify RotronStore of any defect in the quality or condition of a Product within 7 days of the date of delivery. Where the defect was not apparent on reasonable inspection, notify us within 7 days after you discover it. Notice given to RotronStore within these periods preserves your position under the Manufacturer’s warranty, which imposes the same deadlines. If notice is not given in time, the Product may no longer be rejected and no liability attaches for that defect.

Returns. No Product may be returned without advance authorization. Request a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number from RotronStore before any return shipment. The RMA number must appear on both the shipping label and the packing slip. You are responsible for the Product until it is received at the designated facility, and for all packing, inspection, shipping, transportation and insurance charges associated with the return. We will tell you where to ship it when the RMA is issued, as some warranty returns go directly to the Manufacturer.

What to send us. Order number, model, Manufacturer part number, serial number if available, a description of the issue, and supporting photographs or operating information.

Conditions that protect your warranty

  1. Install inlet filtration

  2. Fit a relief valve, which is required rather than optional on some models

  3. Keep the operating point within the published performance curve

  4. Stay within published temperature limits

  5. Do not start and stop more than four times per hour

  6. Use metal pipe for the first five to eight feet from the discharge on pressure systems

Hazardous locations

The Manufacturer states that it will not knowingly specify, design or build a regenerative blower for installation in a hazardous or explosive location without the proper NEMA motor enclosure, and that sealed blowers are not recognized as a substitute for explosion-proof motors. Sealed units with standard TEFC motors should never be used where local, state or federal codes require explosion-proof equipment.

The Manufacturer likewise will not knowingly specify, design or build a blower for a hazardous, corrosive environment without the proper surface treatment and sealing options, and offers Chemical Processing and Nasty Gas™ configurations with Chem-Tough™ treatment, stainless steel parts and seals for that purpose.

Product selection is the purchaser’s responsibility

The Manufacturer offers general application guidance but states that suitability of a particular blower selection is ultimately the responsibility of the purchaser, not the Manufacturer, Rotronstore.com or Sivat Water Solutions, Inc.

Applications the Manufacturer excludes

The Manufacturer states that its products are not designed for and should not be used in medical life support applications.

One thing a warranty does not cover

A blower that works correctly but was the wrong one for the system. That is why we would rather spend ten minutes on the phone before the order.

Contact us with the order number, model, Manufacturer part number, serial number if available, a description of the issue and supporting photographs or operating information. We work the claim with the Manufacturer.
